Drum Swith Connection To Single phase Motor

(OP)
I need to connect a Fwd/Rev/Stop drum swith to a 2hp 1ph motor, 208 volts, the motor is not seized but every connection I try, the motor will not run, any help would be appreciated

RE: Drum Swith Connection To Single phase Motor

The key to reversing a single-phase motor is to separate the start and run windings, and to reverse the polarity of one in reference to another. Hopefully you have a capacitor start single phase motor. The wiring diagram for the drum switch should show you the connections. Do you have the proper leads from the motor?
