Retrofit for Seismic

Retrofit for Seismic

Is anyone aware of literature, documents or authorities that addresses reinforcing plain brick masonry buildings to provide seismic resistance? The area of the work is Canada, but any information would be appreciated. I already have masonry information from some masonry producers as well as the FEMA material.

RE: Retrofit for Seismic

I think FEMA 547 is your answer, used it to develop a retrofit design for reinforced masonry wall at nuclear power plant. Real fun considering radiological working environment and the fact that everything is through bolted to the masonry.

Thanks, Gentlemen... I have a copy of the FEMA document, will try to chase the others down. Can anyone suggest others? Is there a Canadian equivalent? New Zealand has some excellent information, also.
