Composite element material orientation

(OP)
Hello, I have this orphan mesh. I tried to set the material orientation using discrete option. I selected all solid elements and then faces, but when I preview I get this. Each eleement does not have the coordinate system. Is this just visualisation?

Also, can I change the size of the coordinate system like in HyperMesh so I can see easier?

Lastly, how can I see normals from orphan mesh? I created this orphan mesh, as I had 2D mesh and I needed to have solid elements and this was the way I make it work.

Any suggestion are welcome. Thank you very much in advance.
