Method to create many similar assemblies?

Method to create many similar assemblies?

Method to create many similar assemblies?

(OP)
How do you find a good method to create many assemlies (Products) which are similar to each other and where each assembly have a connected 2D drawing?
Let's say you need 50 assemblies, each with 10 subassemblies and 10 parts. The difference between the 50 top assemblies ar often just 1 subassembly or 1 part.
But if you need to add/remove some common part you don't want do open 50 assemblies doing the same action.
Can you do some sort of assembly configuration. I use V5R24 MD2 package.

Or can you find a good workaround?
I was thinking of creating a master Product which containing all possible subassemblies and parts. And then trying to create all the other assemblies using hide/show or activate/deactive. But this option makes it difficult to have correct BOM's and drawings.
