RE: Assembly Mass in NX11 Part list

You Can´t, at least not without advanced weight management and the assert weight command.

RE: Assembly Mass in NX11 Part list

Hi Didier -
It IS possible to put assembly og sub assembly Weight om the partslist.
The Way I do it:
Setup the user_exit variable to point to custom dll. This dll should be a compiled journal or vb code , which calculate the assembly Weight in the background - each time the part or assembly is saved.
This program Schall also create an attribute and put the assembly weight into this...
Afterwards your partslist shoul display the assembly weight ....

(The the value in Weight column in aseembly navigator, cant be used because it is handled internal om the system.) seems like it is still NOT possible to ask for value , either by programming or AS value in an attribute .....)

Regard lklo

RE: Assembly Mass in NX11 Part list

Isn't this a VERY strange case ?
NX HAS the values in the Assembly navigator.
The value is updated each time one saves the part.
-But the value cannot be used in NX drafting !?!?!

Who wrote the specification for this piece of code ?
Did he know that there are other applications in NX ?!?

This is one of these ridiculous examples which can make me so frustrated about NX.
-would it take a skilled programmer 15 minutes to create the missing code ?

Do we have an Siemens ER on this ?

Regards,
Tomas

RE: Assembly Mass in NX11 Part list

Hi Didier,

Please keep duplicating ER on sub-assembly mass in part-list, I too raised ER long back (almost for decade)and waiting for this update keenly. Till NX12 it is not done, lets see if they realize the industry requirement for native users.
