Non updating and out of date reference attributes / expression

Non updating and out of date reference attributes / expression

(OP)
Hi,

We are using a custom attribute in our parts "DB_SUPPLIER_NO" that is supposed to always be linked the a part "DB_PART_NO" attribute (effectively its unique ID number).
However, when we rename the part through Teamcenter (changing its ID), the custom linked attribute does not update.

When going through the attributes list of the part, I can clearly see that "DB_SUPPLIER_NO" is linked to the "DB_PART_NO" attribute, but its value is wrong!
Furthermore, when I click the "reference attribute" button, the dialog box shows the referenced attribute and the good value??

I tried digging into the issue and found that when you create a "reference attribute", an expression is created in the part, calling the source attribute.

Basic Structure:
Custom attribute ---refers to---> automatically created expression ---refers to---> Source Attribute

I think that the problems comes from this automatically created expression, it seems to be stuck to the last source attribute value.
How can I make sure this attribute stays up to date?

Thanks,

Etienne
