How do you edit eng-tips.com posts? Recently I have noticed that a few posts were edited, so there must be some new functionality. Hope this counts as the right forum.

RE: Editing posts
You can only edit your own Original Posts (OP) or your own comments to other peoples OP's.
Look at the bottom of the window of one of your comments and you will see one, two, three or four notations.
1, "Report" with a red flag. If you see something that you feel is offensive, you can Red Flag it, follow the instructions and explain why.
2, "Great post" with a pink Star. If you see a post that you think is special for some reason then you can click on the "Great Post" and follow the instructions.
3, "Edit" this only appears on "your own" Original Posts or comments. This one also has a duration limit. If you post something and then see an error or wish to add something you can do it. However, there is a point in time where the "Edit" privilege goes away.
4, "Delete" This is only on your own posts to give you the ability to change your mind. As far as I know "Delete" also has a time out duration.
Sometimes its possible to do all the right things and still get bad results
