(OP)
I am currently studying for the I.C.C. S1 cert and understand that there is a structural plans reading portion of the exam. My background is in welding & fabrication, and while I have read plenty of part drawings, I do not have much experience reading proper structural plans.

Does anyone know of some resources / tutorials that I can review in preparation for my exam?
Many thanks.

I take it you’ve been working in a fab shop, fabricating various separate pieces and then welding them together into some structural assemblies. You will have seen plenty of piece details and then assembly drawing in which they are put together into larger assemblies. Go up to your drafting dept., they will have the complete sets of plans and structural drawings for the job. And, I would assume you could use some of them for your study. Ask some of those older drafters for some help in what to look for on the drawings; how that info. is turned into the shop drawings you see out in the shop; and then what info. on the plans is particularly important for the field work and inspection. Look at the General Structural Notes, they will talk about the codes and stds. to be applied/followed, AISC, AWS, IBC, etc.
