I work in a pure fabriocation company which does not have design of any kind within its scope. CLient is asking for stress intesification factor of Lateral Tee . How do I provide them with SIF data? Material is A234 Gr WPB. Please advise.

RE: I work in a pure fabriocation compa

SIF data for lateral tee's can be found in Nayyar's Piping Handbook. Are you experienced in piping design and pipe stress analysis? Asking these kind of questions requires some (basic) level of understanding of piping engineering to understand what a SIF is and how a SIF works, regardless is you're a 'design company' or not. It's not a matter of plugging in some numbers and providing them the result if you cant interpret the results.
Youre background is mechanical - can you tell a little bit more on that?

RE: I work in a pure fabriocation compa

You are presumably working from some sort of design. Go back and ask the designer or employ a design company to provide you with the answer.

If this is a "standard" tee, the answer should be well known.

If it is a special tee or specific tee then you will need to do some analysis.

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

"Go back and ask the designer or employ a design company to provide you with the answer."

Maybe the MBAs are now completely bypassing the design process and going straight to fabricators in their quest for bonuses cost-cutting high-value engineering.
