NX10 automated drawings - dimensions when parts are replaced

NX10 automated drawings - dimensions when parts are replaced

NX10 automated drawings - dimensions when parts are replaced

(OP)
Hello guys,

I created an automated assembly and now I want to do also a automated drawing of it.
In the assembly the user can enter his parameters into a user interface (PTS) an than the assembly changes itself automatically. Depending on the chose options the parts(very many parts) in the assembly gets replaced or are invisible for the user. This works fine so far but now I want to make a drawing with dimensions in it.
But obviously a dimension(for example the overall length) looses the connection to the assembly because the related parts were replaced when changing the parameters.

So I gave all faces that are used for the dimension the same name. So I thought that the dimension finds its new connection again(the same principle like for constraints when you replace a part) because the surface has still the same name like the last one... but it does not work.

I don't have much experience with automated drawings in NX... so what possibilities offers NX to solve my problem?

thanks in advance
Lorenz
