AISC TABLE 10-1

AISC TABLE 10-1

AISC TABLE 10-1

(OP)
The notes prior to Table 10-1 (All Bolted Double Angle Connections) state:

..."for standard or short-slotted holes, eccentricity on the supported side of double angle connections may be neglected for gages not exceeding 3 in., expect in the case of double vertical row..."

and also

"Eccentricity effects on the supported (beam) side of the connections are neglected, as discussed previously for gages not exceeding 3 in."

Why don't they mention anything about the bolts on the supporting member. Table 10-1 gives a "Support available strength per inch thickness" but does not mention anything about ignoring eccentricity that would cause tension and shear in bolts normal to the faying surface.

AISC design examples do not address this additional check for table 10-1, so am I assume it doesn't need to be done. If that's the case, where is it mentioned in the manual?
