udf and expressions
udf and expressions
(OP)
I have a template file that contains named expressions and udf's that have the same named expressions.
On my computer when adding the udf to the template file the udf picks up the value of the named expression and applies it to the udf.
On the computer of another user the udf expression changes from the named expression to a standard "P" expression name. The named expression still exists in the template file but is ignored.
Does anyone know what controls this behavior?

RE: udf and expressions
I have seen that you have 10.0.0.24 instead 10.0.3.5.
It's not recommended and check if your colleague have the same version
You can also share your udf. It will be easer to help you

RE: udf and expressions
Attached are the template file with the default expressions and the udf along with the cgm. All the files reside on a network drive where they are both created and stored, so access is exactly the same from any computer.
My tag line should have said 10.0.3.5 but it is actually accidentally correct. The system used to be 10.0.3.5 but when IT replaced my computer they installed the wrong version which I didn't notice until now. Our IT department is not well staffed so this doesn't surprise me.

RE: udf and expressions
You have forgotten to upload the UDf.
Is it possible to dos so?
I might give it a try then.

RE: udf and expressions
I had to jump off of trying to figure this out to get paying work done but will be looking at it more later today.

RE: udf and expressions
I was able to add your UDF to a Library.
It is as you describe.
Only when I change a default Expression, f.e. the locked Expression water_diameter, the UDF changes accordingly.
With the AttributeExpressions this does not happen. So the are not connected...
Currently I am working on a similar topic, and I am in contact with my NX Support.
If they come up with a solution, or a workaround, I will share this offcourse.

RE: udf and expressions
The other system also had 10.0.3.5 so I'm assuming this is a regression.
I contacted GTAC and the incident report is IR8000695.
I'll post when something happens with this issue. Right now I'm pushing for NX11 to try.
