Hi,

AD2000 HP2/1 Table 1 defines the max. bending randius for the welding procedure test coupons as follows, but i could not find the definition of the "a"

Bend angle ° Material Bending mandrel diameter8)
180 Material groups 1 to 7, 9, 11 with a
minimum tensile strength < 430 MPa a
minimum tensile strength ≥ 430 to < 460 MPa 2.a
minimum tensile strength ≥ 460 MPa 3.a

any help will be highly appreciated,

RE: AD 2000 Merkblatter HP2/1

You refer to bend test according to EN 910. In that standard "a" is the thickness of the test specimen

RE: AD 2000 Merkblatter HP2/1

Excuse me, I see now that EN 910 was replaced by EN ISO 5173: 2011. In any case, I understand that the definition of "a" remains the same

Thanks Joseph,

it is a very strict requirement. ASME or EN 13445 codes accept 4 x thk. I wonder why AD2000 requires 2 x thk.
