Web Crippling on Elevated Composite steel deck
Web Crippling on Elevated Composite steel deck
(OP)
I am proposing to support a rather large (Pu=6k) load on an elevated composite deck system.
The load will be applied through a 4"x4" sq. plate.
There will be post shoring installed beneath the applied loads
The allowable phi*Rb for this deck (4" bearing) is 1220 lb/ft.
My question is, should web crippling be a concern?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
