Weld Design Toolbox - How To Weld?

Weld Design Toolbox - How To Weld?

Weld Design Toolbox - How To Weld?

(OP)
Hello, I am new to the Weld Design tools, and am unsure how these tools are intended to work. I have an assembly of steel tubes arranged as a truss. The model was developed from a wireframe and surfaces so that every tube joint could be trimmed for an exact fit. Each tube was turned from a surface to a solid and saved in the assembly with a unique part number. Now I would like to weld these tubular joints together.

In the welding tools, none of the weld buttons look appropriate for a tubular assembly. Are they? There is a command bar with two buttons, one called Joint, and another called Joint Body. These buttons have an illustration that looks like it could be a tubular joint, or perhaps a joint made from tubular fittings. What do these mean? Or more importantly, would these Joint tools accomplish my needs?

Once welded, will the joints in the model actually take on a welded appearance?
I have been highlighting parts and selecting weld types, but can't get past the window for the weld dimensions and specifications to complete the weld. There is obviously something I do not understand about how this toolbox is intended to be used.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Rick
