coupled temp-displacement contact problem

(OP)
Dear All
I am modeling two deformable bodies (one with high elastic modulus as a rigid body) in contact, It has two steps one loading and one unloading of force control load, my model cannot converge at the first increments of the unloading step, there is excessive distortion in the deformable body. the force is high compared to the yield stress of the deformable body, so is the sudden change of stiffness the main problem!? and if so how can i solve it!?
Thank you so much in advance
