Total Strain Energy Density - MARC

Total Strain Energy Density - MARC

I've been working using MENTAT/MARCK7 to create a 3D model of a bi-material interface and the effect of cracks around this interface.  I was wondering if anyone could help me in finding out how exactly the Total Strain Energy is calculated in the case of an 8 noded 3D Element.

Thanks,
Bespin

RE: Total Strain Energy Density - MARC

I would look at the book by Bathe 'Finite element analysis' or any equivalent. It all depends on the shape functions they are using, whether it is hybrid or not, etc.

RE: Total Strain Energy Density - MARC

I know it is easy to calculate in ANAYA
