Submersible Pumps water jacket

Submersible Pumps water jacket

Submersible Pumps water jacket

(OP)
Hi Their
I discussed my colleague about the minimum water level for submersible pump when it equipped with water jacket;
My friend said when you use water jacket for the submersible pump you can reduce the required minimum water level so you can operate the pump at dry operation.
I replied that the minimum water level for the submersible pump with water jacket or without it is the same , thus you can't reduce the minimum water level below the recommended level ( recommended by manufacturer )
The water jacket protects the pump in case of dry operation but not to be used to have less water level , I referred to several manufacturer catalogs and I never saw 2 different minimum water levels for pumps with water jacket and without water jacket.
Any one can advice?
Thanks in advance
