Differential 87L Protection and Automation

(OP)
Just trying to figure out 87L protection of underground cable. What is the difference between “1300 nm IEEE C37.94 port” and the “G.703 port”? Can either of these two ports be used for connecting the relay with SCADA, or would a separate “IEC 61850 port” be required to connect the relay with SCADA? Thanks for help.

RE: Differential 87L Protection and Automation

I'm going to guess that the first two are options for the relay to talk to the relay at the remote end. SCADA would be something else, probably an Ethernet port.

RE: Differential 87L Protection and Automation

What the choices are is if you want the relay to talk on fiber (at 1300 nm) or direct digital (as for microwave).
