Abaqus CFD Issue

Abaqus CFD Issue

Abaqus CFD Issue

(OP)
Hi,

Has anyone here used Abaqus CFD to run steady state before? I found that the results will vary with the iteration number you gave. Did anyone run into the same problem before?

Thanks,
Danny

RE: Abaqus CFD Issue

Is that not expected?

Each iteration the solver produces new values for the field output. Assuming your analysis converges nicely, more iterations should result in lower residual error and a more accurate solution. See the link below for examples of what expected convergence for steady/unsteady CFD analyses looks like:

You should verify that your analysis has converged to an acceptable tolerance. If your results are changing a lot when you change the number of iterations then you analysis has not converged or may have problems. For a steady-state analysis, the residual values for the velocity components are output to the .sta file.
