Two versions of model in one release file - How to?

Two versions of model in one release file - How to?

(OP)
I tried searching and didn't have much luck. Has been 10+ yrs since I released a file in GM TcE. I have an employee that has a file from a sister office. Component has a short wire harness from the housing to a ring. Across 8 different release assemblies there are two different parts where the ring attaches with two slightly different positions. What is the proper way to have two separate installation models in one release file? Reference sets? A former FCA user said they used separate geo_fin's to represent the different versions. ie a straight legnth of tubing vs it's installed position.

Thanks in advance!

I believe the current NX term is arrangements to show multiple positions of the same components in assemblies. Flexible components may also work.

Thanks! We did find one solution. You create an alphanumeric file with the original part number in the file description as an alternate. The original part links to the drawing. We don't own this particular part so what should have been done is the part should have been modeled w/ the harness just shown straight for the drawing. Then, alternate models referencing the original in the filename, can be created with the harness routed as required for alternate component positions.
