Transfer Beam

(OP)
Hi,

I wish to design transfer beam, what the item I need to consider/check with British standard.

Thanks

RE: Transfer Beam

Mostly deflection in the context of staged construction. Some codes have deflection limits for transfer beams but it mostly comes down to sound engineering judgement.

What material is your beam? What is it supporting?

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.

RE: Transfer Beam

Kar Fung,

If you do not know then either read your code or ask your supervisor!
