Guy wire anchors in Limestone

Guy wire anchors in Limestone

Guy wire anchors in Limestone

(OP)
Hello Everyone

We are currently in the construction phase of new 72kV lines in Northern Alberta where the original plan was to use screw type anchors for all of the guy wires. But at few locations we have encountered limestone. I am wondering if anyone here has any experience with the anchor installation in the limestone.

We tried the screw anchors but the do not embed or toque out instantly. I have looked at the option of using log or slug anchors but this option has significant construction cost associated with it for all of the excavations that would be required.

Any input from past experiences will be highly appreciated.

Thanks, Asad
