AASHTO LRFD temperature gradient

AASHTO LRFD temperature gradient

(OP)
I spotted something odd in between the AASHTO 2007 SI units and the US version for the temperature gradient cl 3.12.3.

If you look a the San Francisco Oakland bay design criteria it also say that 30oC = 54oF:

It looks like there is a mistake in the conversion from Fahrenheit to Celsius forgetting to add 32 to the values in brackets?

RE: AASHTO LRFD temperature gradient

For what it's worth my 2016 AASHTO Table 3.12.3-1 is identical to the 2012 Table.

RE: AASHTO LRFD temperature gradient

I think it's global cooling.

RE: AASHTO LRFD temperature gradient

More than likely it's never been caught. I'm not sure of anyone who actually uses that clause...You can pose the question to AASHTO and they can determine which value is correct. They're pretty responsive.
