Book Recommendation - Prestressed Concrete

Book Recommendation - Prestressed Concrete

Book Recommendation - Prestressed Concrete

(OP)
Does anyone have a good pre-stressed concrete book recommendation?

I have looked a little on Amazon and they are all insanely expensive, so I would prefer to buy only one if possible.

A good book for me would have lots of design examples and also be predominantly in English units versus SI units.

Thank you in advance.

RE: Book Recommendation - Prestressed Concrete

Emphasis on PRE-tensioned or POST-tensioned prestressed concrete?

RE: Book Recommendation - Prestressed Concrete

Prestressed Concrete Structures by Denis Mitchell/Michael Collins. One of the better ones I've come across.

RE: Book Recommendation - Prestressed Concrete

I had the same thought about trying to pick a good one on the first try. I decided on Antoine Naaman's Prestressed Concrete Analysis and Design and highly recommend it. Very heavy on fundamentals, design (both AASHTO and ACI/PCI), with lots of detailed calculations. The book is mostly geared toward precast, pre- or post-tensioned which is why I picked it up. This is not the book to get for post-tensioned slabs IMO.

US I take it. Bridges or buildings.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
