How to change the K-Factor on a endress hauser flow meter (from the local display)

Hii,

May someone help me with a way to change a promass 80 mass flow meter K-Factor. I can reach the K-Factor value from the sensor data, but unable to change it. Any suggestions to do it from the transmitter it self. I know that there is a service level access code... can someone share it wit me.

Thanks,

Have you tried contacting E&H or your local sales representative and ask them for a solution? They should know best.

K factors are determined by the construction of the meter. Can't be changed unless you monkey around with the insides. That's why you can only read it.

I am working on Calibrating these meter in house against a a master meter. The only way to adjust the error is by changing the K-Factor or to have a multiplier on your control system PLC/DCS to adjust the error. In my case i don't have the multiplier option so I have to change the K-Factor.

Emerson meters are having an option of a built-in multiplier (M-factor) in their transmitters enabling you to adjust it after calibration without affecting the K_factor.

Any ideas... or advice about changing the K-Factor & what are the parameters that i have to respect while changing it.

item 6 of the operating instruction page 33. implies it is fixed at the factory, but then references a mysterious service code.

Looks like E & H need to give that to you - it's not he same as your personal code apprently

Remember - More details = better answers

When you flow calibrate a primary element you obtain its K-Factor for record.

Custody transfer with square edge orifice plates requires plate replacement, but all other meters, flow calibration is to document the actual meter factor, not change it.

The conversion of the meter factor to actual flow is done in the monitoring hardware (transmitter/display/DCS/PLC, etc).

In fact if it starts changing, it could be time for maintenance.
