Hi I have a house that have corner foundation settlement it is a timber house with bricks cladding supported om strip footing
I am thinking of adding a pile close to the footing and then connect them to the pile by short cant liver

RE: timber foundation setllment

I've seen more problems than not by only piling where the problem exists.

What's the soil type? Do you have a downspout at that corner with no extension away from the building?

RE: timber foundation setllment

The last sentence in Jay rod's post is probably the reason for the corner settlement. Seen the situation and corresponding result way too many times...

RE: timber foundation setllment

How about posting a picture or two, along with some history of anything that might be involved. Only by letting us know as much about the situation as possible can we be useful. There are numerous ways to fix things like this and what you are proposing may or may not be suitable. What part of the country or state is it? Any recent work nearby, such as removing a tree, etc. How old is the building?
