How to define inputs for a product template
How to define inputs for a product template
(OP)
Good morning,
I need to define some inputs for a product template, mainly the axis and the plane on which the instantiated product will be constrained.I will instantiate this product (flange with bolts, nuts and spring washers) in another big assembly that contains some sheet metal and other parts.
I saw some videos on youtube on this matter, but i still don't know how to define the inputs for the constraint: one coincidence between axes and one surface contact between the mating faces.
Do you have any ideas regarding this ?

PKT is not that easy to explain. My recommendation is to get a teacher (1-2 day(s) class assuming you know all there is to know about PowerCopy and UDF) or to try to follow the on-line documentation if you are experienced enough on-line documentation.
Good luck,
Calin

From what I know you need the PKT license, but I'll have to ask.
You can save this template in a catalog just like any powercopy or UDF and then instantiate it in a bigger product.
You have the option to select it you want a new product or same document for the parts involved and the assembly. Because the standard stuff (nuts, bolts...) are stored in another catalogue and resolved in a archive folder on the disk, i don't need new parts for these.
You can see in the image above I have a template for screw, washer, grower washer and nut. Whenever I have to bolt some stuff together, like 2 flanges, in just click on catalogue and select the product template. It automatically inserts a product which then I have to save in the location of my project.

Thank you by your files. I have tested it i'm able to open it, but I didn't found the inputs...

The template that i have sent you is saved in a catalog. When in assembly workbench, you just open the catalog and browse to the desired template. It then positions the instantiated product at (0,0,0) and I have to constrain it by hand in the big assembly.
