Winding Pitch Ratios of Synchronous Generators

Winding Pitch Ratios of Synchronous Generators

Winding Pitch Ratios of Synchronous Generators

(OP)
Other then the effects on harmonic current, is there any significant differences in performance or any other characteristics due to the change of the winding pitch ratio  of a synchronous generators?

In other words will a synchronous generator with a 2/3 winding pitch ratio perform differently then a generator with a 3/4 winding pitch ratio?

RE: Winding Pitch Ratios of Synchronous Generators

Suggestion: The smaller winding pitch (coil-span) has technical advantages in the reduction of overhang copper.
