Save NX9 file down to NX8 or older?

Save NX9 file down to NX8 or older?

Save NX9 file down to NX8 or older?

(OP)
We have to give some files to a customer who cannot open them because they dont run NX9 yet. Is it possible to do save as to these files and revert them to NX8 or older?

RE: Save NX9 file down to NX8 or older?

The best you can do is export out an older version parasolid (the version can be chosen on the export dialog) or STEP file. This will give them the geometry but you will lose the parameters.

RE: Save NX9 file down to NX8 or older?

There are NO parametric CAD systems that can do a save as to an older version of the program. Export to an older version is your best bet with NX. PTC does have a program that will allow you to open a newer version file in the older version, but it comes in as a dumb solid and only slightly better than a STEP transfer.
