UG-20(b) -Design temperature- MAWP have to be conincident with the MDMT.

Can someone explain to me what does the below statement means.

" . The MDMT marked on the nameplate
shall correspond to a coincident pressure equal to the
MAWP. When there are multiple MAWP’s, the largest value
shall be used to establish the MDMT marked on the
nameplate. Additional MDMT’s corresponding with other
MAWP’s may also be marked on the nameplate. "

Why does the calculated MAWP shown on the nameplate be coincident with the MDMT ?

Regards,
Darren

RE: UG-20(b) -Design temperature- MAWP have to be conincident with the MDMT.

MDMT is largely meaningless without a pressure condition associated with it. The warmest MDMT shall be assigned at the highest MAWP. Colder MDMT's may be assigned at lower MAWP's.

See also you other thread :)

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand
