Catia Primitive Features

Hi,
Wouldn't be nice to have primitive features (block, cone, cylinder, sphere) in Catia?..................ponder

CAD 2015

RE: Catia Primitive Features

V3 and V4 had cube, sphere, cylinder primitive that would not need profile.

V5, V6 and 3DX (excluding live shape design) are mostly based on profile features, but you have sphere & cylinder in GSD.

You can build UDF to have a Cone function...

@CAD2015
What are you saying? NX users are incapable of creating primitive features on their own - they need the CAD system to do it for them?

RE: Catia Primitive Features

Nice. I was an NX user for about 5 years. Nx as some advantages, but as some disadvantages. I think that is more user friendly than CATIA. CATIA is more like a keep simple software, NX has a lot of functions and sub functions. To be real productive with CATIA we need to create a lot of customization, with NX with a simple installation of software, is more oriented to the common user. But I prefer CATIA.

I was just joking btw hence the jester emoticon. But in all seriousness, I wouldn't want primitive shape creation buttons taking up valuable real estate on my toolbars when geometry like that can be included in customizable start parts or powercopies etc.
