1985 Allowable Stress Values

1985 Allowable Stress Values

I have to perform remaining life calculations for an in-service vessel. The vessel was constructed in 1986, construction Code was ASME Section VIII Division 1 Edition 1985 plus summer addenda. Material is A-516-70. Design Temp is 85C.
API-510 does not permit to use the allowable stresses from current edition of ASME II-D if vessel is constructed prior to 1999.
From where I can get stress values of Section II-D Edition 1985? I don't have access to 1985 edition of II-D. The factor of safety (on UTS) was 4 or 5 in 1985?

RE: 1985 Allowable Stress Values

The factor was 4 in 1985. At 85°C the allowable stress would be 120.66 MPa (17.5 ksi).

I believe the factor changed from 5 to 4 in 1950 for vessels constructed to ASME Sec. VIII.

Thanks for your valued comment. I found also answer from the below reference.

Ref: Companion Guide to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessels Code; 2nd Edition; Chapter No. 3
Factor of Safety from mid 1940s to 1998 was 4 on UTS and that Section II Part D was first time published in 1992. Before its publication, stress tables were the part of individual Code book.
