Hi guys,

I am doing simulation on Friction Stir Spot Welding with explicit and ALE method. But there is always errors occur. The welding tip in the middle is considered as rigid body. Surface-to-surface contact is defined between tip and sheet with hard contact and penalty method. But it is always stop because of the distorted elements with errors as follows:

The Abaqus time increment has become negative?? = -1.99355E-09
The elements in element set ErrElemZeroALEMass-Step1 have zero or negative mass.
The elements contained in element set ErrElemExcessDistortion-Step1 have distorted excessively.
Abaqus/Explicit Analysis exited with an error - Please see the status file for possible error messages if the file exists.

It confused me for a long time. I don’t how to fix it. Thank you very much.
