Can anyone give me a hand solving this event?  I've been working on this for awhile.  MS TechNet hasn't been entirely useful on this one.

Source: PerfCtrs
Event ID: 2203

Description: No SPX Devices are currently open or the NWLink SPX/SPXII service has not been started.  SPX performance data cannot be collected.

This event is occuring on Windows NT Server with SP6 installed.  We do not have any Novell systems, so I have no idea why its trying to get performance data on SPX.  I'm not aware of a service that is trying to collect performance data.  This system is a file and print server and runs the license managers for some network apps we run.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

See if you have any Novell services installed. If you don't have any need for the IPX/SPX protocols remove them.

Check if the problem goes away.

Ok, I solved the problem.

Just FYI: I ran exctrlst.exe (extensible counter listing tool) from a windows 2000 Resource disc... found the suspect counters causing my problem and disabled them. :)

I don't know how it got this way, but at least I'm no longer getting my warning messages.  I didn't have any SPX/Netware/NWLink protocols installed.

Thanks anyhow for your help :)
