Auto callout in UGNX

Auto callout in UGNX

Auto callout in UGNX

(OP)
Hello All,
Greetings!

I'm looking for a help on UGNX 10.0 drafting callouts

I work on large assembly drafting, I want to know, whether there is any possibility to give the callout of items in the parts list automatically on drawing views? I knew about Auto Ballon in NX 10.0, but we use customized parts list. I have attached reference drawing. Any help on this is much appreciated!

Thanks & Regards,
Sam

RE: Auto callout in UGNX

Auto Ballooning only works with the O.O.T.B. parts list of NX.

There is a workaround however.

1. Place Empty balloons (no text inside) manually attached to the correct components.
2. Create the O.O.T.B NX parts list
3. Update the parts list and the manually placed balloons will be populated with correct callout
4. Remove the O.O.T.B parts list (or drag outside Drawing frame). The callouts will remain in your balloons

Thanks for your response Ronald.

I will try in that way and let you know..

Thanks & Regards,

RE: Auto callout in UGNX

Yes it can be done. I quickly created an example that in my mind does exactly what you're after.
You just to make sure that the parts list settings are set correctly for the callouts and the columns are set right as well.
Hopefully the below image explains what I am referring to.

Hello Anthony,

Thank you very much for your response!

I had tried your way and it worked. But I have few questions below:

1. I have attached a test assembly .prt files with two top levels in that zip file. One is named as Block assy with callouts and other is named as Block assy without callouts. In this assembly, you will find the regular parts list format we genearlly use in our work and in assembly with callouts, I have placed the callouts in our general way and also I have attached Callout_attribute.jpg image which shows the recorded attributes of each item in its own callout. So, this helps us to identify the left over callout to an item in the parts list when we generate a callout report. Is there any way to match NX parts list properties and our parts list properties?

2. Is there any possibility to modify our parts list settings to make that identify by auto balloon command? Please feel free to test on Block assy_without callouts.prt file. Please help me!

Sorry for troubling you..but really thanks for your help!

Thanks & Regards,
Sam
