energization of substation

(OP)
Hi. I would like to know what is the commissioning sequence for the energization of the substation? Thank you.

RE: energization of substation

That is a very vague question. In my mind there are various commissioning steps/points and depends on the size of the substation. For example: A simple distribution sub consisting of a transmission line coming in to a steel struture with a disconnect switch/fuse, a 5MVA txf, a set of VRs and one or 2 outgoing feeders via fuses or reclosers will have different commissioning steps than a substation with several txfs, ring bus, switchers/breakers, control house, multiple relay schemes.

Jghrist,

Thanks for your concern in reference to the link. Our legal adviser was consulted in this matter and the following remarks was provided for clarification

Quote (Inline linking: Inline linking involves placing a line of HTML on your site that so that your webpage displays content directly from another site. We now commonly refer to this practice as embedding. For example, many bloggers embed videos from YouTube on their blogs to illustrate a point or initiate discussion. While there is some uncertainty on this point, a recent case from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals concluded that inline linking does not directly infringe copyright because no copy is made on the site providing the link; the link is just HTML code pointing to the image or other material. See Perfect 10, Inc. v. Google, Inc., 508 F.3d 1146 (2007).)

RE: energization of substation

sorry cuky, but you are linking to a document that you know be copied in violation of copyright.
Not a good practice.

RE: energization of substation

Not to mention that the linked document is the 2009 edition. The 2013 edition is for sale on the NETA website.

In response to the original question, it is advisable to obtain the services of an engineering/testing firm that regularly does this sort of work.

In my present position, I get to see what happens when less than qualified work groups attempt to commission power systems. The results might not be pretty, and may not surface until years in the future.
