Harmonic effect on DC motor

Harmonic effect on DC motor

Harmonic effect on DC motor

(OP)
Dear user
I have 1.2 MWatt DC motor supplied by three phase thyristor full bridge rectifier. I want to know effect of voltage harmonic of AC side on temperature of collector.
Best Regards

RE: Harmonic effect on DC motor

Harmonics on the AC side will start with the 5th harmonic. That is very close to the natural 6th harmonic that is a natural result of the six-pulse rectification and will be a very miniscule in relation to the latter.

A couple of examples are given below. AC harmonics does not add much heat to what you already have.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.
