Base plate bracket

Base plate bracket

Base plate bracket

(OP)
Hi,
I've reviewed the design for tubular HSS with annular base plate, finding design procedures for base plate and triangular bracket (thickness & strength) but cannot find the required length of triangular bracket to achieve fixed behaviour of column base.

I'm working with 3mm HSS and they are NOT particularly stresses by large moments, but need to ensure the fixed end
(around 90% restraint) to be completely sure about structure stability. Also I have a reduced space to place the brackets.

Could someone give me some guide about the minimum length of triangular bracket?
Would this thin thickness (and thin weld size) compromise the rigidity given by the brackets? Don't know if the 'Butler and Kulak' or 'Lesik and Kennedy' stress-strain curves of welds has some thickness limitations and also wouldn't be able to assert some path for the loads in a effort to find the length i'm looking for.

thanks!
