Surface temperature issue with Abaqus

Surface temperature issue with Abaqus

Surface temperature issue with Abaqus

(OP)
Hi,

I'm doing a model about heat transfer in Abaqus. I found that for the component I had, the internal temperature simulation match well with the actual experiment results. but when I try to match the surface temperature, the error becomes large, Abaqus seems to overestimate the surface temperature. The component is a heat sink and it is under natural convection. Does anyone have some thoughts on this? Is CFD software required to achieve good surface temperature estimation?

Thanks,
Danny

RE: Surface temperature issue with Abaqus

Results will depend on the value you use for natural convection and on the conductivity of the material. To be correct both of these values should be temperature dependent. In addition you should also have radiation from the surface.
