This building is built in 1979 and has manufactured roof wood trusses. I am looking for the required ceiling or attic space live load at the time of the construction. The building is built per 1979 uniforhttp://www.eng-tips.com/m building code. There is no storage load in the attic space.

RE: Ceiling /Attic space live load per UBC 79

Usual would have been 10 psf, and the 1976 UBC probably applied.

Hi:
Thanks for your help. Actually I was looking for the code section about the requirement for the 10 psf. I could not find the 10 psf requirement in the 1976 or 1979 UBC. Any idea what part of the code it might be?

RE: Ceiling /Attic space live load per UBC 79

1979 UBC section 2308 references Table 23-B, Special Loads, with "Ceiling framing (live load) all uses except over stages" at 10 psf with some exceptions listed in the table footnotes.
