F1554 high strenght anchor bolts (capacity table)

F1554 high strenght anchor bolts (capacity table)

(OP)
Hello,
Does anyone know of a table I can reference to get tensile capacity for a given anchor diameter? Specifically, I'm looking for F1554 (36, 55, 105) anchor bolts for a high uplift load.
Thanks!

RE: F1554 high strenght anchor bolts (capacity table)

Good luck, you'll need to follow ACI 318 Appendix D procedures. If you have very high uplift, best bet will be to try and restrain concrete break out mechanism by developing anchors into reinforcing.

RE: F1554 high strenght anchor bolts (capacity table)

"Capacity" could be interpreted in several different ways.
Strength of the steel bolt itself can come from ACI 318 or various other design codes.
Strength of embedment would typically come from ACI 318 and would depending on the bolt and concrete details, not easily put into a table.
In addition to bolt size varying, threading can vary, which has some effect on bolt area.
But see http://www.portlandbolt.com/technical/thread-pitch... for example, for thread areas.

RE: F1554 high strenght anchor bolts (capacity table)

Note that the design loads vary depending on the code used. Also note that some codes reference the minimum root area rather than the stress area. And loads may still be limited by concrete design.
