ASTM A995 Gr. 6A vs Zeron

ASTM A995 Gr. 6A vs Zeron

ASTM A995 Gr. 6A vs Zeron

(OP)
On many website, they list ASTM A995 Gr. 6A as an equivalent of Zeron or even as Zeron.

But when I check the chemical composition, it seems they are not exactly same.
ASTM A995 Gr. 6A
C-0.03%max,
Mn-1.0%max,
Si-1.0%.max,
S-0.025%max, (0.01% per Rolled Alloys Zeron 100)
P-0.030%max.
Cr-24-26%max.
Ni-6.5-8.5%, (6-8% per Rolled Alloys Zeron 100)
Mo-3-4%max.
N-0.2-0.3%max,
Cu-0.50-1.00max,
W-0.5-1.00max%,
PREN-40min.

Question:

1. Can we call ASTM A995 Gr. 6A as Zeron?
2. What is the impact of these chemical difference, especially in seawater corrosion service.

Thanks

RE: ASTM A995 Gr. 6A vs Zeron

Zeron is a trademark, if the material is not made by the holder or a licensee then you can't call it Zeron.
The alloy listed by RA is a wrought product, A995 is a casting spec and it will have a different chemistry.
The intention is that A995 6A is the cast equivalent of Zeron 100.
