pumps design
pumps design
(OP)
We have been proposed with VS4 type pump for sump pump ( effluents + oil application in Hazardous zone application - ZOne 2) with 3 and 4 shaft construction with intermediate bush bearings + fresh water lubrication( for a pump length of 3500 mm long) . Earlier when it was discussed with the EPCC ,for the design of submersible pumps, it was said that there are no manufacturers to provide submersible pumps with motors suitable for Hazardous zone applications.
Thanks to provide whether there are any manufacturers for Submersible pumps with motors for Hazardous zone applications. For manufacturing VS4 type pumps, is it a manufacturing difficulty in providing in single shaft construction with intermediate bush bearings + fresh water lubrication?

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)
RE: pumps design
Elec submersibles for hazardous fluids are almost certainly more expensive, but eliminate a lot of the issues involved with a VS4 type pump.
Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
RE: pumps design
Submersibles tend to be less expensive on initial cost, but have higher maintenance costs. In the long term, submersibles will be more expensive.
Check with a VS4 pump manufacturer regarding the possible manufacturing problems. Don't believe it is a problem:

RE: pumps design
Depending on the installation I don't necessarily agree that elect. submersibles will be more expensive long term -- but there are many variables in pump installations.

RE: pumps design
We have made vertical pumps to 5 metres long with intermediate bearings and either product or clean water flush, as well as manufacturing the option of cantilever shaft pumps - bit more expensive, but sometimes needs must...
