PAD UG-37: what thickness?

PAD UG-37: what thickness?

PAD UG-37: what thickness?

(OP)
Hi,

ASME VIII Div.I UG-37.

"te = thickness or height of reinforcing element"

Question: starting thickness or minimum after forming? Because in some cases are different. Thanks

RE: PAD UG-37: what thickness?

Wow, how much are you rolling your repad (in terms of r/t) so that it is thinning from the operation? I've never heard of anybody bringing this up before... Or is this repad perhaps in the knuckle region of a head?

But Prex already answered the query. The philosophy would be the same as a rolled head. The code does not care about the nominal thickness of the plate before forming. It is solely interested in the thickness of the head (or pad) as it is welded to the vessel in its final form.
