Compiling a GRIP

Compiling a GRIP

RE: Compiling a GRIP

If you've got the license to execute GRIP programs you've also got the tools to do what you need. Check your user documentation. It will provide you with all the information that you need to Compile and Link GRIP programs. Note that this is NOT inside of NX but rather using a set of routines that you have to run using the command window.

I went into that command window (GRAND) and when I try to compile or link it indicates that we don't have the license.

RE: Compiling a GRIP

Did Siemens finally make GRADE Development a free license?

GRADE, that's what it is. But they have not, not that I'm aware of anyway.

RE: Compiling a GRIP

NO, that was never done. The idea, at least the internal story, was that it was kept a fully licensed product so as to limit it's use to those who already spent time and effort developing programs but we didn't want it to suddenly be taken-up by new users who should be looking at more modern tools, like NX Open and journaling, and while GRIP was always sometime that everyday Unigraphics users had no real problem understanding, it was no longer very modern and didn't support many of the newer capabilities of NX, hence the development of SNAP as a tool that would better fill the 'void' that GRIP was not able to fill yet was still something easier to use and understand than was full-fledged NX Open or User Function.

...and so in other words, you still need a GRIP Author license to compile.
