RE: Looking for Bearing material like a paste

Molybdenum disuphide suspended in grease would be a good choice. Molylube is a trade name.

RE: Looking for Bearing material like a paste

Hello ozandincel,
Which hole are you speaking about?
If you mean the bore of the bearing to mount a beaing on a shaft.

2 kinds:
a spay: 400GR.SPARYD.L930V
in tub: 70GR.TUBE.L144V or 400GR.KART.L144V

RE: Looking for Bearing material like a paste

I'm writing pm's for a mechanism using lots of shafts and solid bushings, 2+ million cycles per year. Low speed, 25% rotational movement. Lots of load cycling on 30 second intervals.  1/4"-1" shaft dia. Dusty indoor environment. No grease fittings or continuous oiler at this time. Any ideas on frequency of bushing bearing change out on bronze bushing vs. roller bearing? Don't have good data on prior time to failure. With 8-10 hrs to change these out I'm thinking every 6 months (say at 1 M cycles) might be reasonable. Unplanned downtime is costly, $1000 per hour ave contribution of this line to company profits. Currently we wait for failure then fix.

hello CarlBudd,

in which country, are you ?

RE: Looking for Bearing material like a paste

ozandincel

Moly grease is really good. Guessing as a bio-engineer you want clean lubricant paste.
For some clean jobs we make a paste by shear-mixing  equal parts by wt PTFE powder and just-melted pharmaceutical grade white petrolatum. When it cools it forms a stiff white paste. Slippery stuff. If you think it will help I can give you the full recipe.

What is the operating environment and the temperature range?
