ASME VIII-1 (2015) - UHA-105 - Incorrect Reference?

ASME VIII-1 (2015) - UHA-105 - Incorrect Reference?

ASME VIII-1 (2015) - UHA-105 - Incorrect Reference?

(OP)
There appears to be an incorrect reference in ASME VIII-1, does anyone know what this is supposed to point to?

Paragraph UHA-105 Heat Treatment of Austenitic Chromium-Nickel Steels
See Nonmandatory Appendix A, A-350, of Section II, Part D.

At least in my edition of the 2015 code, I can't find this referenced A-350 paragraph. Does anyone know what this should be point to?

Thanks,
Marty

RE: ASME VIII-1 (2015) - UHA-105 - Incorrect Reference?

No, but all those UHA-105 references to Appendix A look flaky to me.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

RE: ASME VIII-1 (2015) - UHA-105 - Incorrect Reference?

When Section II BPV committee re-organized Part D Non-mandatory Appendix A prior to the 2013 publication, this section A-350 was obviously left out. If you review A-350 it really does not get into much detail regarding solution treatment of austenitic stainless steel materials. I suspect, it was left out in the re-write of the 2013 Edition of ASME B&PV Code because it was deemed unnecessary and covered elsewhere in other code book sections.

Section VIII Div 1 standards committee has not caught up or been asked to revise the reference to Part D, A-350 after the 2013 publication. Send in a request for revision to drop the old reference.
