as a beginner how could material engineer start his knowledge collection e.g. ( must read codes, books, ....etc)
thank you so much for your help

RE: starting career

Assuming a new graduate materials engineer, getting a job related to materials engineering and training is first and foremost especially working with a mentor or colleague to gain valuable experience. As work experience develops, access to specific reference materials will be needed to gain further understanding.

The next step is to build their own materials engineering reference library, which will be based upon on job experience. There are many reference materials to select from some are general and others are industry specific.

Focus on getting the first materials engineering job rather than trying to read reference materials. Knowledge collection comes with time served.

RE: starting career

Some of my first book purchases after graduation and my first job in a steel mill were ASM Handbooks. Needed the job to pay for the books.
