Remaining life & MAWP

Remaining life & MAWP

Remaining life & MAWP

(OP)
Background.
New PV never in operation, stored outdoor.
After 7 years UT scanning showed localized corrosion (pitting) in one head.
Question.
How to calculate Remaining life & MAWP in this case?
API 510 is to be used?

Any input will be appreciated.

RE: Remaining life & MAWP

It might be better to perform a fitness for service evaluation for localized corrosion using API 579.

RE: Remaining life & MAWP

Use ASME FFS/API 579.

RE: Remaining life & MAWP

Pitting detected by UT? , Why not by visual inspection?
Is this a vertical pressure vessel and pitting is on internal bottom head?
You must investigate the cause of pitting before run API 579
How much deep is that pitting?
